The Review:

For its age, this car defies the "old car" mentality. Do not let the miles fool you! The car is as solid and as reliable as the day it was brand new. The engine being a 2.4L diesel non turbo, the car is not fast, but it will get you where you want to go. The engine is a little clattery whilst getting going off the line - is slow none the less - quiets down when you reach your touring speeds. The vinyl interior and various appointments of instruments in the cabin are atequet and are very pleasant. The exterior of the Mercedes cars always looks brand new even after 25 years of use. This particular car is very clean because the previous owner took care of the car from brand new. The transmisson is perfect with next to perfect shifting on the origional clutch and transmisson. The ride is absolutely perfect, and holds circa right angle turns with no problem at about 40 MPH, and whilst driving at highway speeds, the road noise is inaudible. The steering, yet vague, is responsive at high and low speeds, and gives the driver a very overwhelming sense of control. While the car is slow, once it is going more than 30 MPH, the lack of power is not really felt, for the laws of physics take over and the momentum helps you out immensely. If you floor these cars, you do not get more power, you get more black smoke!

The Verdict:

This car is just fine for a economy minded indivdual who wants a bigger car with 35 MPG, but not necessarily a ton of power for around town. This car is also a highway cruiser, and is very very comfortable for the extra long trips.
